Synopsis
Sign of the Times – A Chronicle of Decadence in the Atomic Age launched in 1981 and provided ten years of non-mainstream fiction and graphics in a world taken over by Reagonomics and right-wing politics. Twenty years later these stories still ring true as we have drifted to the left, then to the right through two marginally legal wars in the Middle East. The republication of these best-of-class ‘zines’ as eBooks extends the life and reach of these stories. They are as true today as when they were written. The best description is that all the stories are a little bit off: politically, psychological, sexually, mentally, societally. The motto when these stories were originally released was, “short enough for bathroom reading.” We have rendered the issues (and the anthology) as best we can in eBook format including all the original graphics.
