Writing is my work (my own and other people's) and I'm happy that I found the field that somehow pulls all my disparate interests together.

I'm both technically and artistically minded. I've studied both arts and sciences in my academic life and fine myself invariably working out of both perspectives. For me, the importance of words is their potential. We both bend and are bent by the meanings of words.

We can learn about ourselves and the world we inhabit by looking at the words that we use to describe those. Some words are honey to the mind, and others fill us with dread or loathing. Words can be our companions and they can be the instruments of betrayal and slander.
