So – what is libboo?

Libboo.com is a free website dedicated to Reading, Writing and Networking. It is a platform for inspired and inspiring writers, critics, editors, journalists, researchers, teachers, advisors…. etc. to be exposed to the world’s leading publishers and literary agents in a manner that cannot be done elsewhere.

It’s also a fun site whereby anyone can read, write and network with others in an exciting new way and show off their creations to the world.

It’s a way of collaborating on written material in an intuitive manner while retaining all the simplicity of writing in the real world.

Don’t think Libboo.com is simply an online service however! Libboo.com also ventures into the real world, which we will share with you in due course! “If it’s good on Libboo, it’s good off Libboo” – is what we say.

So, try out Libboo – write some stuff – review some stuff – read some stuff – promote some stuff – and importantly, share some stuff!

We are looking for volunteer website developers to work on Libboo.com!

We offer a free service for writers and readers to network and collaborate with each other online, and are looking for more people to join our team in introducing new and novel ways for people to work together.

I need to stress that this is not a job advert, more seeking volunteers to help us. But hopefully, if the service gets commercialised, you of course will take your fair share of the rewards.

We need people who have skills in MySQL, AJAX and PHP. If you have at least one of those and can spare anything from 10+ hours a week, we would like to hear from you. We imagine recent graduates, students and IT experts who wish to try something of their own would be interested.

Please contact us on feedback@libboo.com for more details.

We finished designing our badges today, they were sent off for production, and will be with us next week sometime.

The first three designs reflect the various areas of the site, and we have another two generic Libboo badges.

We got some stickers as part of the package too, they are larger than the badges, and are in a nice bright yellow, so should be easy to spot.

We hope you like them!

Libboo.com is now in its Beta phase. Anyone can join Libboo now and we don’t have a limit to the number of users who can sign up.  Users’ Libbooks, Reviews and Profiles are also now open for the public to see.

We have also extensively tested all aspects of Libboo.com and everything (fingers crossed) seems to be working fine.

Of course, it will happen to the best of us that some things from time to time do go wrong – but if that ever happens on your watch – just let us know and we will fix it right away.
